Mingei International MuseumMingei International Museum Average User Rating: (0 votes, add your vote or comments) Mingei International Museum, meaning "arts of all people" displays an eclectic collection of arts from various cultures around the world. Most significantly represented in Mingei International’s permanent collection of 16,000 objects from 100 countries are art objects from India, Japan, Indonesia, Mexico, and China. There is a large collection representing the continent of Africa, more than 230 pre-Columbian objects with marine animal design motifs, a great variety of dolls and toys, and a significant collection of contemporary American craft. The museum is located in Balboa Park at the corner of El Prado and the Plaza de Panama, southwest of the fountain. Hours: Tuesday–Sunday, 10:00 am–4:00 pm Directions: I-5 S to Airport / Sassafras exit to Laurel Street. Turn left and stay in right lane; continue east on Laurel (after Sixth Ave, Laurel becomes El Prado). Cross bridge and go straight to museum.
